Join us on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, 12 noon (AZ time) as Burton Bentley II, M.D., FAAEM, presents:

Finding and Working with Medical Experts; Do's and Don'ts

Physicians and surgeons are critical assets in medical litigation, and the task of securing them as expert witnesses is often assigned to paralegals. Successful paralegals must know how to proactively manage expert witnesses while avoiding critical points of failure. During this webinar, Dr. Bentley provides practical insight into the expert witness relationship and gives practical advice for expert selection, vetting, retention, fees, and communication.  When experts and paralegals align constructively, legal teams maximize their potential for efficiency, cost-savings, and success.

Burton Bentley II, M.D., FAAEM

Founder & CEO of Elite Medical Experts

Dr. Bentley is an Arizona native who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Arizona. He then earned his M.D. degree from U of A before completing a residency in Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  While in Wisconsin, Dr. Bentley flew over 150 emergency missions as a flight physician onboard the Flight for Life helicopter. Dr. Bentley returned to Tucson and practiced emergency medicine full-time for 21 years --- treating nearly 80,000 patients --- before stepping out in 2015 to pursue a medical device that he patented, and to grow his medicolegal consulting business. The medical device company was acquired last year by Centurion Medical, and Dr. Bentley now devotes all of his time to Elite Medical Experts, a physician-run consulting firm that he founded in 2010.  Elite has 2700 clients across the US including 70 clients in Arizona and 12 of the top 100 largest law firms in the United States. In addition to working with countless small law firms, Dr. Bentley and his team provided strategic and tactical support to Robert Eglet, lead counsel in the Endoscopy Center of Southern Nevada cases where the combined verdicts totally over $1.2 billion.  Dr. Bentley is honored to address the Arizona Paralegal association and will speak on a topic that he knows quite well:  "Finding and Working with Medical Experts --- Do's, Don'ts, and Tricks of the Trade.”
